Step 1

Goodbye Jailbroken phone. You’ve been good to me.

Fortunately, the 2.0 software has already been jailbroken in only a matter of hours after its release.

Not sure if this is gonna work, but I want to see how slick n’ smoov the MobileMe interface is going to be when it’s released in a coupla days.

Knowing that current .Mac users are going to be converted and upgraded free of charge, I thought maybe become a member right quick.

I never used .Mac…so I signed up for the above 60 day free trial. When the day comes to convert, hopefully they’ll bring over the trial members as well.

EDIT:
Hmmm….seems as tho’ you can do this right through the system prefs.

SOOO much better than iTunes. I urge all of you to use Amazon MP3 store over iTunes Music store. Here are my sexy reasons why:

1) DRM Free.
2) Great bitrate:

3) Imports into iTunes right after download without any work.
4) Same price if not cheaper (Go see for yourself)
5) Their ‘top artists’ downloads aren’t mostly douchebags or on Disney’s label

6) DRM FREE!!!! I mean, c’mon.

I’m pretty bummed about the SDK announcement by Apple. Having a jailbroken phone since 1.1.1, I have it set up just the way I like it.

Now, all of the authors have stopped development on their software to focus on the SDK version.

I mean, I understand why they’d do it. After watching the stream of the event and what it’s capable of doing, you can see that they can take their software to a whole new level. Apple did a great job by unlocking the potential of the platform to third parties. Games are going to be SICK!

I hate the fact tho’ that all applications have to be sold through the iTunes app store. It’s asinine that Apple has the final say on what can or can’t be put on the phone. Apple gets a 30% cut on every dollar the developrs make. THIRTY F’N PERCENT!!! For hosting a website. That’s it. Developers do all the work and Apple gets 1/3 of your profit. BS if you ask me.

I’d imagine it’s in the contract saying that the developer isn’t able to sell it anywhere else, otherwise developers will just use iTunes as one marketplace and their website/forums/blogs etc. as another.

It was fun watching programs like iFlix and iBlackjack develop from betas. Their programs are going to be damn cool through the SDK, I just wish I could get outside of Apple.

Here’s to (hopefully) another round of jailbreaking.

This guy has created in my opinion the best software for the iphone yet. Download, install it and play and throw him a couple bucks:

There’s even a clever ‘commercial’ made for it. Pretty good spoof of the iphone ads and shows the abilities of the software.

Any Daft Punk fans will want to search for the Daft Punk sound set on the forums of the authors site.

Practically new condition. Gotta sell to make room in the wallet. It’s no coincidence that I’m posting this on the day of the Jobs keynote.

If you know me, you know how I maintain my stuff…specifically my electronics.

This is odd. Very unannounced. I can’t find anything on my usual rumor stops.

I wonder what they’re updating…..

Jeez…I’m such an Apple geek.

I was asked because of this post what the big deal about Quicksilver for the Mac. Well-heh-heh-ell…let me learn you a little sumthin’….

I figured I might as well do a little quickie tutorial to get people started. You can do some searching on your own to find out little things here and there you’re trying to do.

Let’s do this thing….

A little known ‘feature’ of Apple’s Universal Access is the ability to switch to ‘black on white’ with this keystroke command. Basically it switches everything viewable on the screen to something like a photo negative. Pretty neat.

I like to use it as a night-time mode when there isn’t much light around because it makes it easier to read what’s on the screen without the blinding back light frying your retinas.

I was reminded of this feature via 43 Folders who reports of a Blacktree app called Nocturne that gives you the ability to tweak the settings of this feature. Pretty cool stuff if you use this often.

You might have heard of Blacktree as they’re the people that brought Mac users the ‘hands-down-most-useful-awesome-wonderful-best-coolest-app-EVAR-for-the-Mac’, Quicksilver.
